"Of A Certain Age – Stories of Gay Male Elders in the Hudson Valley" is community-based photography project that explores and celebrates the lives of gay men over 50; a generation who have lived through the AIDS epidemic and have also been part of the progress of LGBTQ+ rights and visibility in our country over the past 50 years.
Through environmental portraits and interviews, this project offers these men the opportunity to share the stories and reflect upon their experiences. Topics such as body image and sexuality, physical and spiritual health, work, friendships and relationships will be explored through this project.
As a gay male "of a certain age", I continue to reflect on this stage of life and how my past experiences over the past 50 years have provided me with a bit of wisdom as well as coming to understand that many of my experiences were not always unique.
